“Small places make for small lives. And some people are fine with that. They like knowing where to put their feet. But if you only walk in other people’s steps, you cannot make your own way. You cannot leave a mark.”
The Invisible Life of Addie Larue by V.E. Schwab
When I was a child, my parents took my brother and sisters on road trips during vacation. We would travel to nearby cities or other states around Mexico City. Some trips took hours and hours of driving passing cities, states, straight roads, curvy roads, deserts, mountains, beaches until we would arrive at our destination. Traveling was an opportunity to explore, eat different food and discover places never seen before. This brings so many memories of my childhood and time with family. I found great pleasure during those trips that still remain in my heart. As an adult, I’ve been fortunate to visit other countries in the world. Fortunate because although I traveled as a child the thought of visiting other countries was not conceived. I traveled internationally for the first time when I was a young adult and I found it fascinating as well.
I’m a curious person, the joy of meeting new people and seeing how they live is a unique and special experience. It allows me to see life from a different lens- what other people value, how they think, what they consider important in life.
This blog was born from my desire to share with you some of the things I have found interesting in the hope that you enjoy it as well. I invite you to join me in my journey to explore the beauty of our communities, our cities, our country, our world.
